Welcome to the Town of Froid! In the heart of Northeastern Montana, the Town of Froid is characterized by rolling hills, glaciated plains, broad river valleys, and sweeping vistas. The resourceful, hard-working people of this region retain their western agricultural heritage while looking to thier future. The area offers abundant recreational opportunities such as hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping. Major recreation sites include Medicine Lake, ten miles north, and the Missouri River, about 16 miles South. The Great Northern Railway's branch line between Bainville and Scobey arrived at Froid in 1910, the year the town was officially platted. Residents obvserve this date as the official birthday of the town. As of the 2014 census the population was estimated at 203 people.
